Rep. Jackie Speier (D-CA) accused President Trump on Tuesday of acting like a potential “tyrant” in his criticism of various government departments and agencies.
The president has blasted the FBI, Department of Justice, and Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s Russia probe over alleged pro-Hillary, anti-Trump bias.
On Tuesday, President Trump berated the FBI for using Fusion GPS’s Steele dossier as a basis to investigate the Trump campaign–even though most of the dossier remains unsubstantiated.
The president has spoken out against federal courts on occasions when his travel bans have been stricken down.
Speier told MSNBC’s Katy Tur she was troubled by President Trump’s comments, saying “I am concerned that the President of the United States is systematically trying to shut down every possible branch of government but the presidency.”
“You’ve got him attacking the judiciary, you have him attacking the CIA, you have him attacking the Department of Justice, the FBI. I mean, this is the conduct of someone who could become a tyrant if we don’t step in and speak out against him.
“I think that he is being so unpresidential, and he is undermining the very foundation of this county and the institutions that we hold so dear and that are protected in the Constitution of the United States.”
The congresswoman made similar statements before, comparing the president to men like Vladimir Lenin and Josef Stalin.
.@POTUS truly scares me. He is systematically attacking every institution of a democracy—judiciary, law enforcement, media. Dictators like Lenin and Stalin did that on their way to power. Now we know why he is so infatuated with Russia. https://t.co/Ec9n8xYdeH

Speier should try relaxing, easing up on the dystopian fiction, and brushing up on the Constitution.
That face when you realize Jackie Speier, a Congresswoman, has no idea that the CIA, DOJ, and FBI is part of the Executive Branch. pic.twitter.com/iT2ZkOnYK9

@JackieSpeier is an embarrassment to herself and her party. How can someone so out of touch with reality and clueless about how the govt functions ever get elected? Wait! Never mind~I know!

Why do liberals always say that POTUS is unpresidential? He is telling the truth and he is the first president in my memory that tells the truth so everyone that says he is unpresidential can kiss ? my butt he is up front and straight forward refreshing

Furthermore, please explain this congresswoman that Trump’s reducing the size of government, reducing rules and regs are early signs of executive branch cleansing itself of authoritarianism which had ballooned under Obama regime.

Does she really believe what she just stated or is she paid to make these statements. I cannot understand how people don’t see what’s been going on.

How do these people get elected!

It’s funny watching them try to ruin Trump’s presidency, lol. All of them read from the same playbook trying to sound smart, but they sound like babbling idiots.
