Melania and President Trump got a very special greeting visiting the church where they wed

Wherever they go, the first couple tends to be the center of attention.

President Trump and First Lady Melania were received as hometown heroes by fellow church-goers while attending Christmas Eve services.

The president and Mrs. Trump arrived at Palm Beach’s Bethesda-by-the-Sea Church Sunday morning.

The congregation of Floridians eagerly stood at attention when the first couple came in–showering them with heartfelt applause.

The Trumps were greeted by Rev. James Harlan, who delivered the homily. The address centered on the themes of God’s light and the power of words.

Rev. Harlan also quoted Nelson Mandela as saying:

“It is never my custom to use words lightly. If 27 years in prison have done anything to us, it was to use the silence of solitude to make us understand how precious words are and how real speech is in its impact on the way people live and die.”

President Trump sat on the right side of the church in the third row. He and the First Lady left Bethesda-by-the-Sea shortly after noon.

The media continually portrays President Trump as unpopular, yet the enthusiastic welcome Americans routinely give him tells a much different story.
