President Donald Trump gave what amounted to a ringing endorsement of a book by former campaign manager Corey Lewandowski and deputy campaign manager David Bossie.
The election memoir, “Let Trump be Trump,” chronicles the 2016 presidential race.
“Congratulations to two great and hardworking guys, Corey Lewandowski and David Bossie, on the success of their just out book, ‘Let Trump Be Trump.’ Finally people with real knowledge are writing about our wonderful and exciting campaign!” tweeted the president.

Lewandowski was Trump’s campaign manager out of the gate, but would be replaced by Paul Manafort ahead of the Republican National Convention. Bossie was hired on in the final months of the campaign.
Trump’s support of the book did not go unnoticed by Lewandowski, who responded by thanking the president.
“Thank you @realDonaldTrump for working so hard to Make America Great Again! Our families and our country are grateful for your strong and unwavering leadership! LetTrumpBeTrump is a great book about what you did to save America,” he tweeted.

As expected, there were complaints about the president using his position to endorse a product:

Another endorsement. “Under federal ethics regulations, executive branch employees are prohibited from using their position ‘to endorse any product, service or enterprise.’” https://t.co/iEwXqbLbM0 @POTUS is exempt, but in the past, presidents have abided by federal ethics laws. https://t.co/Db3BVp9UlM

But there was also plenty of well wishers, as seen from Fox News’ Brian Kilmeade:
