Democrat introduces resolution for official investigation into Trump harassment

Democrats are dead-set on obstructing President Trump at all-cost.

A House Democrat on Tuesday introduced a measure calling on Congress to start an official probe into the allegations that President Trump sexually assaulted various women decades before taking the oath of office, Washington Times reported.

If the resolution were to reach the floor of the House, Republicans could be forced to vote for or against establishing the probe.

Rep. Gregory W. Meeks (D-NY), who introduced the measure, took opportunity to criticize the President for his alleged lack of “moral leadership.”

“At a pivotal time, when the nation should be able to a president for moral leadership, we must look elsewhere,” Meeks said.

The New York Democrat went on to argue that the women’s claims should be publicly heard.

“When women share personal accounts of sexism and violence towards them, we should listen rather than summarily dismiss their concerns,” he acclaimed.

Over a dozen women made allegations against then-candidate Trump in the final weeks of the presidential election last year.

The measure comes in at a time when numerous prominent men in entertainment, the media, and politics have stepped down from their positions over sexual misconduct allegations.

Meeks has led a controversial career as a Congressman.

In 2008, the New York Times reported that Meeks took advantage of a rule that allows House members to lease a car with taxpayer money. Meek came under scrutiny for leasing the most expensive vehicle of the Congressmen who used the benefit, using $998 of public funds per month for a 2007 Lexus LS 460.

Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington (CREW) previously named Meeks one of the most corrupt members of Congress.
