President Trump calls for a new ‘Fake News Trophy’ and lays out the terms – one network will be exempt

President Donald Trump is relentless in his campaign to keep pressure on dishonest media outlets, calling for a “contest” Monday to award a “Fake News Trophy.”

Taking to Twitter, the president named CNN as one of the contestants, while sparing Fox News the indignation.

“We should have a contest as to which of the Networks, plus CNN and not including Fox, is the most dishonest, corrupt and/or distorted in its political coverage of your favorite President (me). They are all bad. Winner to receive the FAKE NEWS TROPHY!” Trump tweeted.

Speaking of fake news, President Trump took the time to call out MSNBC’s “Morning Joe” show for serving up a helping of baloney on Thanksgiving Day, trying to pass off a taped show as being live.

“The good news is that their ratings are terrible, nobody cares!” the president opined.

Trump posted the tweets as he returned to Washington, after spending Thanksgiving in Mar-a-Lago, Florida. He is expected to get right to work pushing tax reform across the finish line.

CNN continues to be on the receiving end of the president’s ire, getting slammed for a second time over the weekend, as seen in a tweet on Saturday — a tweet that showed a little love for Fox News.

“. is MUCH more important in the United States than CNN, but outside of the U.S., CNN International is still a major source of (Fake) news, and they represent our Nation to the WORLD very poorly. The outside world does not see the truth from them!” he tweeted.

Lacking any sense of humor, Trump’s critics went into full cardiac arrest on social media, but his supporters had a different take: “Best. President. Ever.”
