Fox Sports 1’s “Undisputed” host Shannon Sharpe had no love for LaVar Ball in his feud with President Donald Trump.
The outspoken sports dad’s son, LiAngelo Ball, was one of the three UCLA basketball players arrested in China for shoplifting and the elder Ball drew Trump’s ire when he dismissed the president’s role in getting the players released.
Trump ripped into Ball on social media for his lack of gratitude, tweeting, “I should have left them in jail!”

But Sharpe said even people who dislike Trump would agree with the president here.
“I can assure you even the people that dislike President Trump the most would agree that LaVar Ball is wrong in this situation. I guarantee you that,” he said.
“Now, you might dislike what he’s done, what he’s said and who he is,” Sharpe added. “But he had some effect on these kids coming home.”

He then suggested Ball’s “kleptomaniac son” was responsible for the controversy.
“If your son would have kept his sticky *ss fingers in his pockets and not take people’s stuff in China, we wouldn’t even be having this conversation. So, you talk about ‘who?’ — your kleptomaniac son is who!” Sharpe exclaimed.
Zing!
For what it’s worth, Ball downplayed his son’s embarrassing actions, telling ESPN he told his son, “They try to make a big deal out of nothing sometimes. I’m from L.A. I’ve seen a lot worse things happen than a guy taking some glasses.”
Sharpe explains below why Ball’s criticism of the president was the “dumbest thing” he could have done:
