Sunday night’s American Music Awards had more people talking about the artists’ wardrobe choices than about the music itself.
Even superstars like Diana Ross and Pink committed blunders so big, you have to wonder how they are so fashionably challenged.
Thankfully, some ladies managed to save the AMAs from becoming a costume contest. Here are the worst and best dressed from last night’s awards.
The Bad
Has the costume department at the latest Star Wars movie reported any missing items?
Diana Ross
The former Supremes singer and internationally respected icon donned an outfit that looked like something straight out of the Addams Family. Ross received a lifetime achievement award on the same night her daughter, Tracee Ellis, hosted the ceremony.

Like mother, like daughter. After looking presentable during her arrival at the awards, Ross changed into a bizarre copper dress that made her look like a space alien.
Pink
The pop star raised eyebrows with this red dress, which appears to be made from the same material as AMAs’ red carpet.
Bleona Qereti
The Albanian actress and singer left little to the imagination–and probably blinded a few onlookers–with this shiny metallic outfit.
Julia Michaels
What is it with singers and tacky red? Michaels seemingly took a page out of Pink’s book with this uninspired dress.
Patrick Starrr
Gender-ambiguous make-up artist and YouTuber Patrick Simondac, better known as Patrick Starrr, took cake with these garbs, which curiously made him look like the actual Patrick Starr from the cartoon.
The Good
Of course, it wasn’t all bad. There are still stars in the music industry with friends willing to bring a bad wardrobe choice to their attention.
Viola Davis
The Oscar-nominated actress was stunning in this elegant white dress.
Kelly Rowland
Rowland sported a sleek black dress with luscious decorations.
Heidi Klum
Klum was pretty in pink with this dress that showed skin in just the right places.
Laura Marano
Marano’s simple-but-stylish red dress hearkened back to Old Hollywood.
Jenna Dewan-Tatum
Dewan-Tatum’s glittering outfit turned many heads as she walked into Los Angeles’ Microsoft Theater.
Demi Lovato
Demi Lovato showed everyone she still has the looks to complement her powerful vocals.
Taking a moment to see how the one percent dresses is half the fun of awards shows. This year’s AMAs certainly had a diverse mix of good, bad, and ugly.
