Trader Joe’s recalls three salads for possible dangerous rogue ingredients

Trader Joe’s may very well be one of the best places in America to get healthy, organic food and produce at a reasonable price, but it might be a good idea to hold off on that pre-packaged salad you bought last week.

Because glass and plastic don’t go well with chicken and cashews.

According to their website, Trader Joe’s has recalled three salads, including their “Trader Joe’s white meat chicken salad with celery, carrots and green onions,” “Trader Joe’s curried white chicken deli salad with toasted cashews, green onion, and a bit of honey,” and “Trader Joe’s turkey cranberry apple salad turkey breast meat with sweet dried cranberries, tangy green apples, pecans and sage.”

Since the recalled salads have use-by dates between Nov. 10 to Nov. 12, the potentially contaminated salads will likely be residing in someone’s refrigerator.

The three salads were packaged and recalled by Green Cuisine, according to the U.S. Department of Agriculture, and packaged between November 4 and 15.

Trader Joe’s says only products with the “INSPECTED” code P-40299 could contain the contaminants, so any other “INSPECTED” code isn’t included in the recall.

Customers are encouraged to either return the product to the store for a full refund or throw them away.
