Coming the same week President Donald Trump visited China, noted Trump-hater Katy Perry was reportedly denied access to the Asian country.
Slated to perform at the Victoria Secret fashion show in Shanghai, the recording artist has been banned from entering China indefinitely, according to Page Six.

Other top models, including Gigi Hadid, were also banned by the communist country, the celebrity news and gossip site reported.
All of which further erodes from the chances the fashion show will go off as planned.

“[Perry] was initially granted a visa to perform at the VS show in Shanghai, then Chinese officials changed their minds and yanked her visa,” a source told Page Six.
“For every artist who wants to perform in China, officials comb through their social-media and press reports to see if they have done anything deemed to be offensive to the country.”
The Victoria’s Secret fashion show was already on precarious ground thanks to a lack of cooperation from Chinese officials.

The source said Chines authorities reversed their decision because of Perry’s actions at a performance in Taipei, the capital of Taiwan — China sees an independent Taiwan as breakaway province that will eventually be part of the country again.
Perry wore a bright, glittery dress with sunflowers on it during the concert and waved a Taiwanese flag — the outfit was controversial because the sunflower was adopted by anti-China protesters, Page Six noted.

As for Hadid, sources said she was banned because of a February Instagram video of her holding up a biscuit shaped like Buddha and squinting her eyes in what was seen as a racist action bymany.

The model, who did apologize for the incident, took to Twitter to acknowledge that she will not be going to China.
She tweeted: “I’m so bummed I won’t be able to make it to China this year. Love my VS family, and will be with all my girls in spirit!! Can’t wait to tune in with everyone to see the beautiful show I know it will be, and already can’t wait for next year! 🙂 x.”
