Remember the ‘hate crime’ that provoked Air Force head’s viral rant on race? Turns out it’s a hoax.

The left long ago became “the little boy who cried wolf.” It’s why regular Americans have stopped paying attention to liberals’ hysterical, politically-motivated accusations of racism.

Even when the claims they base their calls for social justice on turn out to be false, the last thing you’ll see leftists do is retract and apologize. That would require more personal character than they can muster.

In the latest unraveling of the liberal narrative, racist messages on a white board at the Air Force Academy that prompted a viral speech by Academy superintendent Lt. Gen. Jay Silveria in September have turned out to be written by the victimized student himself, The Gazette reports.

An investigation at the Air Force Academy Prep School found that the offensive message of “Go home n***er,” written on a white board outside a dorm room, was penned by one of the five African-American cadet candidates in the dorm.

In an email to The Gazette, spokesperson Lt. Col. Allen Herritage stated:

“We can confirm that one of the cadet candidates who was allegedly targeted by racist remarks written outside of their dorm room was actually responsible for the act,” adding, “(t)he individual admitted responsibility and this was validated by the investigation.”

Interestingly, the cadet, who is no longer enrolled at the Academy, committed the fake act of hate as an attempt to get out of trouble for misconduct.

The white board message sparked national outrage when first discovered. Although all the facts surrounding the case were not known at the time, superintendent Lt. Gen. Jay Silveria delivered a strong anti-racism speech as a response, calling on racists to “get out” of the Academy.

Although the incident has now been discovered to have been a hoax, the Academy stands by Lt. Gen. Silveria’s strong speech.

“Racism has no place at the Academy, in any shape or form,” Herritage said. “We will continue to create a climate of dignity and respect for all, encourage ideas that do so, and hold those who fail to uphold these standards accountable.”

The Academy has not revealed the identity of the cadet. “We acknowledge that there may be additional information already in the public space, but we will refrain from discussing further details surrounding the investigation due to privacy act requirements” read Herritage’s statement.

The tragic part of all this is Democrats will only make it harder to believe when real hate crimes occur. But for social justice warriors, selling a narrative is always more important than actually helping people.
