Frederica Wilson goes on delusional rant, accuses Gen. Kelly of using ‘racist term’ against her

Wilson is standing by her statement that President Donald Trump told Myeshia Johnson, the widow of Sgt. La David Johnson killed in an ambush in Niger, that her husband “knew what he signed up for.” In a Wednesday morning tweet, Trump said Wilson’s description of the call was “fabricated.” (AP Photo/Alan Diaz)

Hours after saying she would have no more comments on the self-serving spectacle Frederica Wilson created around the tragic death of a Green Beret, she was back at it on CNN with a salacious charge against Gen. John Kelly.

The Florida Democrat ramped up the rhetoric on Friday to extend her 15 minutes of fame, and accused the White House Chief of Staff of racism for using the term “empty barrel” when describing her in a press conference on Thursday.

“That’s a racist term, too. I’m thinking about that one. We looked it up in the dictionary because I had never heard of an empty barrel. And I don’t like to be dragged into something like that,” she said. “The only thing I want to be dragged into right now is getting back our girls who are the victims of Boko Haram in Nigeria.”

She followed that remark by shamelessly putting herself center stage — again — and referred to Sgt. LaDavid Johnson, who was killed in action in Nigeria, as her son. Not once, but twice.

“Boko Haram and ISIS combined, and they killed my son,” she said.

“You mean Sgt. La David Johnson?” a confused Alisyn Camerota asked.

“La David. My role model son, my role model son,” she said.

On Thursday Kelly said that Wilson was following “the long tradition of empty barrels making the most noise,” when she took the stage at a ceremony honoring two agents who were killed in the line of duty and made the event all about herself.

Her latest rant not only came hours after she said she would have no further comments, but after she accused Kelly of conducting his sobering press conference in order to keep his job. She also shamelessly called herself a “rock star” for all the attention she has received.
