No one is going to mistake Nicolle Wallace for a Constitutional scholar after he ridiculous assertion about what the intent of the Second Amendment was.
The MSNBC anchor, and former “The View” co host, spoke to Everytown For Gun Safety president John Feinblatt and actress Julianne Moore on her MSNBC show “Deadline” on Tuesday to lament gun ownership in America.
Wallace cited an op-ed from Bret Stephens, a columnist for the New York Times, in which he argued that the Second Amendment was not intended to create an armed population of civilians.
“A conservative wrote a piece last week that got a lot of attention about maybe opening up the conversation about the Second Amendment,” she said. “His name is Bret Stephens, and he said the intellectually honest way to have this debate is to say that this isn’t what was intended, that we’re an armed population.”
Perhaps Stephens is a “conservative” like Wallace. Wallace has worked for establishment types like former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush, former President George W. Bush and Sen. John McCain during his run for the White House.
But Wallace took the argument even further than Stephens did, by getting the intent of the Amendment wildly incorrect.
“This was a right to bear arms against foreign militias,” she said.

No Nicolle, not remotely close.
Nowhere in the Second Amendment are foreign militias referenced.
Progressives continually mention the use of the word “militia” in the Amendment to create ambiguity where none exists. The operative part of the Amendment reads “the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.”
It is expressly “the right of the people.”
Moreover, Stephens didn’t argue about the intent of the Second Amendment in his piece. What he argued is that it ought to be abolished.
The MSNBC host was skewered on social media for her lack of knowledge.
Umm, yeah, like that is the dummest and intellectually dishonest thing I’ve read all week. Congrats, Nicolle.

Wrong.
The #2A was primarily meant to protect us from Government Tyranny.
That’s why you will NEVER get our guns.
