Free speech for me, but not for thee.
What’s not to love about the left eating its own? The ever-growing civil disobedience protest movement supported and encouraged by so many Democratic lawmakers has once again risen up to bite the hand that feeds it.
In the latest example, the venerable ACLU, a true pillar of liberalism, was the intended target, falling prey to a vocal group of Black Lives Matter activists from the College of William & Mary.
…activists who were, for the most part, very Caucasian.
“Tonight, we shut down an event at William & Mary where Claire Gastañaga, executive director of the ACLU of Virginia, was speaking,” the group stated on Facebook, where a video of their shenanigans was shared.
“In contrast to the ACLU, we want to reaffirm our position of zero tolerance for white supremacy no matter what form it decides to masquerade in.”
Ironically, the protest came in what was described as a “celebration of free speech” by Fox News, where Claire Guthrie Gastañaga, executive director of the ACLU of Virginia, planned to give a speech on freedom of expression.
The BLM activists took exception to the ACLU defending white supremacists’ right to march in Charlottesville, Va., in August, an event that became violent and resulted in the death of a woman, Heather Hyers.
An indication of how radical these privileged left-wing snowflakes are can be seen in what they were chanting.
“The revolution will not uphold the Constitution!” the group chanted.
“Liberalism is white supremacy!” another chant declared. “ACLU, you protect Hitler too!”
“Blood on your hands!”
And they did shut the event down… although Gastañaga proved that the left has still not come to terms with the monster they’ve created.
“Good, I like this,” she coddled the rude protesters as they interrupted her.
“I’m going to talk to you about knowing your rights, and protests and demonstrations, which this illustrates very well,” the ACLU executive said. “Then I’m going to respond to questions from the moderators, and then questions from the audience.”
Except she didn’t do any of the above as her “right to free speech” came to a grinding halt under the boot heel of Black Lives Matter. Scroll down for video of the event.
