Is it the power of alcohol or the enduring American spirit?
…maybe a little bit of both
As bullets rained down on the crowd attending the Route 91 Harvest Music Festival next to the Mandalay Bay Resort & Casino in Las Vegas, terrified concertgoers crouch down, unaware that this provided them no protection from a madman firing from the 32nd floor of the hotel.
And amid the carnage, with bullets flying all around, a defiant concertgoer holding a 25-ounce Bud Light tallboy is captured on video flipping off the gunman:
Just interviewed Shaun Hoff who was in the 4th row &I recorded this video. Says "we couldn't do anything." A woman was shot 30 ft from him. pic.twitter.com/rRZBeYH9tK

The dramatic video captures just how surreal it is when a gunman opens fire on folks out for a good time, who then try to grasp what the hell is happening — an all-too-slow occurrence as people are dying all around.
An even more stunning video captured an equally defiant man offering himself up as a sacrifice as people around him dive for cover, daring the crazed killer to shoot him.

But again, there’s a reason alcohol is called “liquid courage.” And the next video shows just how precious a beer can be for some.
A man is captured about 15 seconds in balancing a full beer precariously as people drop all around him from the gunfire.

Watch the astonishing scene unfold below… and pray for all the victims and their families.
