Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers showed unity with his teammates, and with the police on Thursday.
Before he stood on the sidelines, arms interlocked with his teammates, for the National Anthem, the Packers star announced that he gave tickets for the game to Green Bay police.

“To those waiting on the #rodgerstickethunt, I gave my tickets this week to police officers from the Green Bay Area. Enjoy the game!” he wrote on Twitter.

The quarterback typically hides tickets around the city for fans to find, known as the #RodgersTicketHunt, according to Fox 6 Now.
Rodgers made the announcement after he, earlier in the week, announced that he would be linking arms with his teammates and invited fans to do the same.
Before Thursday’s game he did exactly that, and many fans, and his opponent, the Chicago Bears, did the same.
“This is about equality,” Rodgers told ESPN. “This is about unity and love and growing together as a society and starting a conversation around something that may be a little bit uncomfortable for people.”
Many fans remained unhappy with him for that gesture.
Nice, but…you don’t believe that police are inherently racist? Isn’t that what Kaepernick based his sitting statement on?

Hand over your heart Rodgers. Are you trying to lose all of your fans?

But you’re so disrespectful to our nation and flag /s ??

But you are repeating and accepting a false narrative started by Kaepernick. I will not watch the NFL I was a life long packer fan

Yet you support the protests that Kaepernick started last year about police? #JustPlayTheDamnGame

And made sure everyone knows it by saying it on twitter ? Nice publicity stunt. But the only way to respect the anthem tonight is ✋? Over ❤️

Then stop supporting Krapernick’s cop hating agenda!
