Democrat Dan Helmer may or may not win his race for Virginia’s 10th congressional district, but he has already won when it comes to having the “worst ever” political ad.
Titled “Helmer Zone,” the recently released ad is being widely panned for how awful it truly is, Fox News reported.
Fair warning, it even includes karaoke.
Borrowing from the bar scene in the hit movie “Top Gun,” with Helmer playing Tom Cruise, our hero spots incumbent 10th District Congresswoman Barbara Comstock having a drink.
Like the movie, Helmer begins singing an altered version of The Righteous Brothers’s “You’ve Lost That Loving Feeling” to highlight his Republican opponents opposition to Obamacare and Planned Parenthood.
And it’s bad. Really bad.
