Of all things, THIS is the thing that Hillary Clinton said made her tear up …

Who knew that Hillary Clinton was so moved by the arts?

Kate McKinnon won an Emmy for her iconic portrayal of Clinton on “Saturday Night Live” and when she took the stage Sunday night to accept her award, ABC News’ Chris Donovan tweeted a shout-out to the actress from Clinton’s new tell-all book about the 2016 presidential election.

Clinton described McKinnon’s cold open on SNL’s first show after she was defeated by Donald Trump in the Nov. 8 election.

“She sat at a grand piano and played ‘Hallelujah,’ the hauntingly beautiful song by Leonard Cohen, who had died a few days before,” the failed presidential candidate wrote.

“As she sang, it seemed like she was fighting back tears,” Clinton added. “Listening, so was I.”

It seems somewhat pathetic that a woman of Clinton’s stature would publicly wallow in self pity while acknowledging that she shed tears over lost opportunity — even if it did mean she would have been the first female president.

Her mention of McKinnon was in the chapter titled “Grit and Gratitude,” which the actress referenced as she thanked Clinton during her acceptance speech.

“On a very personal note, I want to say thank you to Hillary Clinton for your grace and grit,” McKinnon said.

Did I mention that it was moving, at least for the faithful.

Oh, for what could have been… if you’re into destructive liberal politics and all that. For the rest of us:
