Rescuers go back into flood waters to rescue elderly man’s American flag and the reason is a tearjerker

Amid all the devastation seen in the Houston area over the past week, there have also been stories showing the best America has to offer.

In a reprieve from the violence and anarchy seen from hate groups like Antifa and Black Lives Matter, neighbors are helping neighbors in the very worst of times, rising above color, creed and race to help one another survive.

One such story involved the rescue of an American flag that belonged to a World War Two pilot killed in action.

An elderly gentleman was pulled from the flood waters, but left behind the flag that belonged to his late brother, prompting an agent with the Texas Department of Public Safety to go back and retrieve the priceless family heirloom.

Such a moving story… it’s enough to bring a tear to the eye. Or is that just allergies:
