The “Fight for 15” campaign to increase the federal minimum wage to $15 per hour is planning a strike over the Labor Day weekend.
…as the national effort “gets political” in targeting Republican governors who are up for reelection in 2018, Fox News reported.
But is the network a little late to the party with that assessment?

More from Fox News:
“The number one job of politicians is to raise the standard of living for workers,” the Fight for 15’s strike invitation reads. “But in states across the country, Republican governors are doing the opposite – using their power to do everything they can to help corporations and billionaires at the expense of the rest of us … In 2018, the worst Republican governors – ones in battleground states – are ALL up for reelection. Let’s throw ‘em out.”
Michael Saltsman, managing director at the Employment Policy Institute, said the redirection is “more like a ‘get out the vote’ push than a union organizing campaign.”
The Service Employees International Union is the primary backer of the effort to raise the minimum wage to $15 per hour, which also includes pushing to unionize fast food workers.
SEIU’s 2016 financial disclosures supplied to the Department of Labor shows the militant union spent more than $90 million on the Fight for $15 campaign since 2012, according to the Center for Union Facts.
The money flows to at least eight union front groups pushing the minimum wage campaign around the country, The Hill reported.
“I think that given the amount of money that the union [SEIU] has spent on this … they’re looking at 2018 and saying ‘how do we most effectively spend our money to try and advance our agenda,’” Saltsman said.
A closer glance shows the Fight for 15 organization is not only political, but also anti-capitalist.
“To Defeat Racism, We All Need to Dismantle Racial Capitalism,” a recent tweet proclaimed.
The union front group helps promote the Democratic Party’s racially divisive agenda and is an avid supporter of the violent Black Lives Matter movement.

The Fight for 15 movement is also stringently anti-Trump, frequently disparaging President Donald Trump.

In fact, you’d be hard-pressed to name a liberal cause the union entity doesn’t back…. meaning they are about as political as one can get.
