After Berkeley attack, police chief says we should discuss ‘providing space for Antifa’ – sound familiar?

Looks like we may have another graduate of President Barack Obama’s Task Force on 21st Century Policing.

Sounding a lot like the ex-mayor of Baltimore, the police chief in Berkeley responded to a small army of violent Antifa antagonists overtaking the streets by saying the city should talk about “providing space” for the thugs.

Black-clad combatants armed and ready for a fight crossed police barricades on Sunday and pretty much had their way.

Echoing the sentiments of Baltimore Mayor Stephanie Rawlings-Blake, who infamously said she “gave those who wished to destroy space to do that” amid rioting in her city, Berkeley Police Chief Andrew Greenwood said on Sunday Antifa could use a little space of their own.

The difference being that race rioters destroy buildings, while fascist Antifa thugs — who claim to be “anti-fascist” — destroy skulls.

In interview that aired on KPIX, the police chief questioned whether it “makes sense to get into a major use of force over a grassy area.”

A “grassy area” where unlawful behavior was happening and innocent people were being assaulted:

“And as far as I am concerned there are some deep discussions that need to happen within our community about providing space for Antifa and some of the folks we saw here today,” Greenwood said. “The conversation is nowhere near done.”

It’s worth noting that Rawlings-Blake provided broad input into Obama’s policing task force created amid protests in Ferguson, Missouri — which makes you wonder if Chief Greenwood attended.
