The left doesn’t need much of a reason to lambaste President Donald Trump, but he gave them one anyway on Sunday when he plugged Milwaukee County Sheriff David Clarke‘s new book, “Cop Under Fire.”
Clarke shared a photo of the book’s cover in a self-promotional tweet back in March letting followers know that it’s “available on Amazon and at your favorite bookseller.”

Trump opted to re-tweet Clarke’s post, along with the caption: “A great book by a great guy, highly recommended!”

The tweet was a full-throated endorsement of Clarke, who endorsed Trump at the Republican National Convention and considered taking a job at the Department of Homeland Security.
And it was enough to send left-wing zealots over the edge, as seen in a tweet by Jay Lee — no known relation to Confederate General Robert E. Lee — a columnist with the Houston Chronicle.

That the president shared his plug-in the immediate aftermath of Hurricane Harvey only added to the angst of those who suffer from Trump Derangement Syndrome.
Never mind that Trump also tweeted on the rescue efforts underway in Texas.
