Drudge leads Conservatives who pile on Trump with ‘Make America Hate Again!’ headline

It is no surprise that the left is using the domestic terrorist attack in Charlottesville on Saturday to pile on President Donald Trump and blame him for it.

But what is a surprise is the friendly fire he’s receiving from the right. Including from one of his most influential supporters, The Drudge Report.

The conservative news aggregation website led with the headline “Make America Hate Again!”

The headline links to a story on the Daily Mail that reported on the protests, counter protests and the car attack that led to the death of 32-year-old paralegal Heather Heyer.

The inference seems to be that President Trump is somehow responsible if a hateful bigot decides to kill.

And Drudge was far from the only entity on the right that took this position.

The talking heads on networks like CNN and MSNBC droned on for hours about the president needing to make a statement, even before anyone was killed, and after his statement how they, predictably lambasted him for not saying what they wanted.

Many of the same people who insisted that former President Obama was correct for not calling radical Islamic terrorism by name, straight-faced called on President Trump to call out white supremacy by name, and so many prominent on the right fell in line behind that call.

And noted “Republican” haters of President Trump couldn’t miss the opportunity to chime in.
