‘Good morning, Mr. President,’ Chelsea Clinton fires back at Trump after he takes a swipe at her family

President Donald Trump defended his daughter standing in for him briefly during the G20 conference last week, and it ruffled the feathers of former first daughter Chelsea Clinton.

“When I left Conference Room for short meetings with Japan and other countries, I asked Ivanka to hold seat. Very standard. Angela M agrees!” the president wrote in a tweet on Monday.

He followed that with a hypothetical example of how the media would have reacted if Hillary Clinton won the presidential election and her daughter Chelsea stood in for her.

“If Chelsea Clinton were asked to hold the seat for her mother, as her mother gave our country away, the Fake News would say CHELSEA FOR PRES!”

Clinton the younger did not take kindly to the president’s assertion and fired back.

“Good morning Mr. President. It would never have occurred to my mother or my father to ask me. Were you giving our country away? Hoping not,” she wrote.

After Ivanka Trump briefly sat in for her dad when he left the room to meet with other world leaders, the left went out of its mind.

But, as the president said, German Chancellor Angela Merkel and others said it was not out of the ordinary.

The portion of the meeting that Ivanka Trump sat in on was a speech given by the president of the World Bank that involved issues that could be affected by the Women’s entrepreneur fund spearheaded by her and the World Ban president.

“She just spearheaded this amazing roundtable about women’s empowerment and led the US, inspired the US to contribute $50 million to a fund for women’s empowerment across the globe,” Kellyanne Conway told the hosts of “Fox & Friends” in Ivanka’s defense.

“This is a woman who has really made her mark on this issue in a couple short months on the job in the White House, and she should be commended for that,” she said.

“And also, in this case, you know, investing money and encouraging other nations to do the same,” Conway continued. “The US led on this, but she was able to secure other nations investing as well.”

She added that Ivanka standing in for her father was a “standard thing.”

It was a much friendlier interview than the epic half hour battle she had with CNN’s Chris Cuomo on Monday where she asked him if he was “embarrassed” to be working for a network that is obsessed with Russian conspiracy theories.
