Kim Kardashian is so sorry after ‘blackface scandal.’ So, race police get to monitor white women’s make-up?

In the hypersensitive post-Obama era, wearing too dark a shade of makeup is sure to result in controversy.

…just ask Kim Kardashian.

The woman whose claim to fame is a “leaked” sex tape and a very large — surgically altered? — derriere knows a thing or two about attracting attention, but she does not want anything to do with the “blackface controversy.”

“I was really tan,” the reality TV star explained, after being criticized for wearing her makeup too dark during a recent photo shoot to promote her new beauty line.

The photos prompted racially sensitive snowflakes and other social justice warriors to level inane charges of “cultural appropriation” and to accuse Kardashian of doing blackface. Case in point:

The push back was intense enough to cause Kardashian, who lives and dies on pop culture acceptance, to roll out a litany of excuses to defend her actions.

“I would obviously never want to offend anyone,” she told The New York Times. “I used an amazing photographer and a team of people. I was really tan when we shot the images, and it might be that the contrast was off.”

Besides, no one in her circle of privilege complained.

“I showed the image to many people, to many in the business,” Kardashian continued. “No one brought that to our attention. No one mentioned it.”

But worry not, the celebrity has learned from the experience.

“Of course, I have the utmost respect for why people might feel the way they did,” she said. “But we made the necessary changes to that photo and the rest of the photos. We saw the problem, and we adapted and changed right away. Definitely I have learned from it.”

By the way, as of this writing, the “blackface” photograph is STILL Kardashian’s profile image on Twitter — after all, she’s got makeup to sell!
