A brand new Hudson County New Jersey police officer is fighting to keep her job, and speaking out about her former career as a dominatrix.
Officer Kristen Hyman conceded to the New York Post that she performed in dozens of dominatrix movies where she donned kinky costumes and abused male costars.
But, she said, she never appeared nude or performed any sex acts on camera.
“I’m not embarrassed because I can own up to things I’ve done in the past,” the 30-year-old, formerly known as “Domina Nyx Blake,” who will appear at a hearing on Thursday to fight to keep her job, said.
“I’m mortified. I’m scared,” she said.
Hyman was suspended on May 26 after he superiors learned of her previous career.
But a judge reinstated her and allowed her to graduate the academy, the Post reported.
“I don’t know what it has to do with me doing the job,” she said.
“I was struggling financially as an actress [and model],” she said. “ I had been doing regular catalogs for clothing, small stuff.”
Hyman told the post that she was promised a “good wage” to do the movies.
“You didn’t have to compromise in any sort of way,” she said. “It was a safe thing and a kind of way to explore acting,” she said. “It was a totally ridiculous world.”
She compared the movies, and her character, to World Wrestling Entertainment.
It “was exactly like WWE wrestling. I had a constructed narrative. A constructed character. Anything you read involving ‘Domina Nyx Blake, the Greek Goddess of the Night,’ is creative writing,” she told the Post.
In one video, called “Domina NYX Beatdown,” the raven-haired Hyman, dressed in a black bra and leggings and puffing a cigarette, slaps, punches and curses out a bearded, balding man. “It sucks to be him,” the 5-foot-6, 150-pound seductress snarls, placing her chubby submissive in a headlock. At one point in the 21-minute clip, the choking man tries to “tap out” like a vanquished wrestler. “I don’t know what that means. Are you doing morse code?” she taunts.
“The majority of the videos are ridiculously funny,” she said. “It’s super-cheesy stuff. Everything I’m doing is wink-wink.
“I think it’s pretty clear that you can see that nobody is injured. A number of videos involve the same people over and over again. There would be a costume change, and then we’d do another one.”
The movies were made in New York and Florida and, on occasion, she purchased her own costumes.
“I even purchased an Iron Man costume at a Target in Florida!” Hyman told the Post. “Me walking in declaring ‘I’m Iron Man?’ How sexy is that?
She said the comments on the Internet are “pretty painful” and that she is “afraid for my safety right now.”
“I don’t want to be judged on what I did in the past and not who I am now,” she told the Post through tears as she discussed her life long dream of being a police officer.
“I just want the world to see this young lady as she is,” her lawyer, James Lisa, told the Post. “She’s not a carnival sideshow. She’s a woman committed to law enforcement.
“The biggest question is, ‘Did she lie in her application?’ She did not,” the attorney said. “She said she was a model, photographer, and an actress.”
Hyman believes it was an ex boyfriend who told her bosses about her raunchy past.
