Celebrities unleashed the hyperbole.
On Friday Officer Jeronimo Yanezin was acquitted of manslaughter charges in the 2016 shooting death of Philando Castile. The case grabbed national attention after his girlfriend live-streamed the aftermath of the shooting on Facebook.
Celebrities from both the entertainment world and the political sphere unleashed an avalanche of commentary is response to the acquittal.
Comedian D.L. Hughley had one of the most shocking responses when he compared the Islamic State terrorists as favorable to police.
Another unarmed black killed manother cop found not guilty! I’ll start worrying about ISIS when they can carry a badge! #Philando #TeamDl

California Rep. Barbara Lee erroneously contended that the world watched the shooting via live stream, even though Castile’s girlfriend started the video after he had been shot.
#PhilandoCastile was shot in cold blood. The world watched it LIVE. What will it take for the justice system to value Black lives?

Former first daughter Chelsea Clinton went safer with a tweet about a child she met who knew Castile, but still declared shame on the justice system.
Thinking of the boy I met last year who said Philando Castile was his best friend because he was the nicest person in his school. For shame: https://t.co/hNj27NzIL7

Actress Yvette Nicole Brown, like Rep. Barbara Lee and many others on social media, believed the actual killing was on video.
His murder was FILMED. You SEE that Philando was NOT a threat to the officer, who shot into a car with a CHILD inside. #BlackLivesDONTMatter https://t.co/Q1Ulkx0NZI
