No amount of “acceptance” and “tolerance” will ever be enough for liberals bent on changing the moral and traditional foundation of America.
That is being proven again by LGBTQ rights groups who are calling for crosswalks in major cities to be painted as rainbows in a show of public support for their lifestyle.
And the first city on their agenda is Chicago, whose astronomical murder rate would suggest it has bigger issues to concern itself with.
Some cities, like Washington D.C., have temporarily painted crosswalks as rainbows in support of the LGBTQ community, but that is no longer enough.
“Some cities, like San Francisco, have made LGBTQ people feel more at home by creating permanent rainbow crosswalks to honor the LGBTQ community,” read a petition that has garnered more than 4,000 signatures. “This is one small thing that could be done to signal to one of the most marginalized communities in the country that we are here for them, we see them, and we support them.”
The petition claims that D.C. and Atlanta are installing permanent rainbow crosswalks as a result of petitions.
It’s a statement that was corroborated by Atlanta Mayor Kasim Reed this week when he announced that his city would be making the rainbow crosswalks a permanent fixture.
“On June 12, 2016, amidst the celebration of Pride Month, 49 individuals lost their lives in an unspeakable tragedy in Orlando, Florida,” he said, in a statement released on Monday. “Today, on the anniversary of this horrific event, we remember those whose lives were lost and those that were forever changed. Our thoughts and prayers were with you then, and they remain with you today.”
More petitions are circulating online for the crosswalks to be permanently created in New York City, Fort Lauderdale and Milwaukee.
Rainbow crosswalks are currently fixtures in Philadelphia and San Francisco.
