Conservative radio host Dennis Prager didn’t mince words when he scolded never-Trump Republicans for not supporting the president.
During an appearance on “Fox & Friends” on Thursday Prager warned that “We are in a Civil War,” against the left, and the very heart of America is at stake.
“I was totally anti-Trump through the primaries,” Prager said. “He was my 17th choice.”
But, he said, that he said from the beginning that he would vote for him if he became the nominee.
“Once he was the nominee I passionately campaigned for him. And now I’m still, so-to-speak, campaigning for him, and there’s a very simple reason,” he said.
“There is something considerably worse than Donald Trump, and that is the left,” he said. “And what conservatives who are attacking the president don’t seem to understand is what the nature and depth of the threat to America that the left — poses to the United States.”
Prager cited former President Obama’s promise to “fundamentally transform America,” and he said, the left continues to want to accomplish that goal.
And he pointed out that, while many conservative, including himself, might cringe at his tweets and how he speaks, President Trump “has achieved more conservative victories than all of the Republican presidents, that is the two Bushes, since Ronald Reagan.
“If any of these conservatives who are anti-Trump would have been told, ‘in one year you will have the most conservative cabinet in history, you will pull out of the Paris accord, you will have a Supreme Court justice who is conservative’ they would have said ‘Wow Cruz won?'”
Prager said his message to the never-Trumper’s was the same as he wrote in a column on Wednesday.
“We are in a Civil war and if you don’t recognize it then obviously it doesn’t matter (to you).”
