Customers terrified when fatal gun fight breaks out between bounty hunters and fugitive in car dealership

Frightening cell phone video showed the moment two bounty hunters engaged in a deadly confrontation with a fugitive.

The video, released Wednesday, showed the bounty hunters, Gabriel Bernal, 33, and Fidel Garcia, 54, attempting to apprehend the suspect, Raymond Hutchinson, 49,in a Nissan dealership in Corpus Christi, Texas on Tuesday, WFAA reported.

As the bounty hunters attempted to handcuff Hutchinson, he reached for his gun. He dropped the firearm on a desk but was able to grab it again and began firing at Bernal and Garcia.

The bounty hunters returned fire but all of the men involved in the gunfight were killed.

Thankfully, no innocent bystanders were injured in the crossfire as the showroom was full of men, women and children, according to WFAA.

The president of the dealership, Rick Ford, said the men presented themselves to employees as federal agents.

“They didn’t have badges, they didn’t show identification,” he said, according to WFAA.

“They were dressed casual, we thought they were plain clothes officers,” he told authorities.

Jon Alfaro, the president of the Texas Bounty Hunters, said the Bernal and Garcia, who worked for F.N.G. Security and Investigations, presented themselves incorrectly.

“You have to clearly state who you are and what your intentions are and what your business is there,” he said.

“People run from uniformed police,” he said. “There’s nothing to indicate at this point that what they were doing is legal in the state of Texas.”

Hutchison was wanted on an outstanding warrant for failure to appear on a first degree drug charge in Minneapolis.

According to WFAA, 20 gunshots were fired by all three men in a span of six seconds.
