These fickle celebs outraged over Comey firing suffer from short-term memory loss

Liberal celebrities, politicos and talking heads lost their minds on Tuesday after it was announced that President Donald Trump fired FBI Director James Comey.

Many likened the move to the famed Saturday Night Massacre when President Nixon fired special prosecutor Archibald Cox who was looking into the Watergate scandal.

A ridiculous comparison for several reasons, not the least of which is that President Nixon didn’t fire the FBI director and the fact that the man Nixon fired was someone he knew was investigating him.

Some called the move a Constitutional crisis, though the FBI director serves at the pleasure of the president and President Trump is well within his rights to fire him.

But what was most striking was the outrage from those who, mere months ago, expressed no confidence in Comey and, in some cases called for his firing.

Two months ago, Hillary Clinton’s campaign manager Robby Mook wanted Comey to remove himself from the Russia investigation.

On Tuesday night he was terrified by Comey’s firing.

In October, actress Debra Messing thought it was time to take Comey down.

After President Trump fired him she thought he was the second coming of Eliot Ness.

Rosie O’Donnell kept asking why Comey was still employed and demanded his firing.

On May 9 she thought his unemployment was a disgrace.

“Star Trek” actor George Takei accused Comey of abusing his office in December.

On Tuesday Takei was beside himself.

Filmmaker Michael Moore wanted Comey sent to Alcatraz two days before the election.

Now he wants an election do-over because he was fired.

Once upon a time, Rob Reiner thought Comey was disgraceful.

Now he thinks his firing is a signal that the end is nigh for the Trump administration.

Wil Wheaton thought Comey was complicit in a coup to bring President Trump into office.

Now he demands a special prosecutor because the man he accused of a coup was fired.

And Cher thought Comey “jeopardized democracy” with his handling of the Clinton email investigation.

But on Tuesday she thought President Trump was a “gutless lying traitor” for firing Comey for the way he handled the same investigation.

Apparently, short-term memory loss is a big issue in Hollywood.
