With a focus on “Morning Joe” host Joe Scarborough getting testy with co-host Mika Brzezinski last week while talking about Ivanka Trump’s role in the White House and whether it amounts to nepotism — an exchange BizPac Review characterized as a “lover’s spat” — the two jetted off to Europe over the weekend to get engaged.
A source told Page Six that the pair, who have long been rumored to be romantically involved, flew to France and Monaco in celebration of Brzezinski’s 50th birthday and Scarborough popped the question.

“Joe got down on one knee and proposed old-fashioned-style with a ring,” the source said. “Of course, Mika accepted. They came back from the trip on Cloud Nine.”
“There are no wedding plans as of yet, they are just telling their families the happy news,” the person added.
But did Brzezinski, who split with her husband of 22 years last year, use last week’s tiff, of which Scarborough took to social media to somewhat apologize for, to press her advantage?
“Mika turned 50 and realized she wanted to move forward with her life and spend every minute with Joe, and not just at work,” a source close to Brzezinski told Page Six.

Adding to the intrigue, Scarborough told Vanity Fair that President Donald Trump suggested they get married at Mar-A-Lago or the White House when they discussed marriage in front of the president.
“They could have the President of the United States marry them,” Trump reportedly replied when son-in-law Jared Kushner offered to marry them.
