‘Rich kids’ snookered into jet setting to ‘celeb-filled’ island, but shocked & scared soon after arrival

Many of the world’s rich, young and beautiful, including a group well-known by millennials as the ‘rich kids of Instagram’ were instantly shocked when they found out they’d been had.

After signing up and paying outrageous sums for a well advertised glamorous event in the Bahamas they were instead left living like, well, other people in the Bahamas.

The Fyre Festival, which was co-organized by rapper Ja Rule, was described as a “cultural moment created from an alchemic blend of music, art, and food” and was set to begin today and go for two weeks, the Daily Mail reported.

The following is a video promotion for the trip and hardly what they encountered:

The event’s website featured models Hailey Baldwin, Emily Ratajkowski, Alessandra Ambrosio, Joan Smalls and Bella Hadid and promised performances by Tyga, Disclosure, Major Lazer, Skepta, Pusha T and Blink 182.

But that fantasy came to a screeching halt when party goers found the resort full of rat droppings, feral dogs, garbage, thieves, unfinished tents and miscreants looking for booze, according to numerous reports.

Plans started to unravel on Thursday when Blink 182 released a statement backing out of the event.

“Regrettably and after much careful consideration, we want to let you know that we won’t be performing at Fyre Fest in the Bahamas this weekend and next weekend,” it read.

“We’re not confident that we would have what we need to give you the quality of performances we always give our fans.”

Prices for the event ranged from $400 – $12,780.

Tilly Smith, who as nicknamed “Angel of the Tsunami” when she was 10-years-old after she warned people on a beach in Thailand that a tsunami was coming, said she and some friends paid $1,000 each to attend.

“The Fyre Festival homepage made it seem so amazing. It was being hailed as the festival of the year with loads of A-list celebs supposed to be going and a line up of really good musical stars,” she told Daily Mail.

“We thought it was just going to be out of this world. The photos on the Fyre homepage were sensational, lots of famous models like Bella Hadid playing in the sand and sea, promises of five-star boutique camping with even waiter service and gourmet food.”

“He said basically it was worse than a refugee camp,” she said.

Yeah, it was exactly like the conditions refugees, fleeing from bombs with only the clothes on their back, experience.

The trip that is being called a scam and a fraud had the scared and pamepered crowd running for the airport.

The disaster of a festival was a trending topic on social media.

Some thought it might be an experiment to “make rich privileged white kids pay 12k for the refugee experience.”

Yeah. All of those liberal celebrities were on the Trump Train.

One Twitter user thought some good might come from it for the rich, liberal elitists who attended the event.

The Bahamas tourism deptartment tried some damage control:

But rapper, Ja Rule might want to lay low for a while — afterall, these kids can jump on plane anytime and find him.
