The radical Left has successfully shut down one more event thanks to the cowardice of another liberal city.
Conservative firebrand Ann Coulter has been making waves over the cancellation of her highly publicized Berkeley speech. Needless to say, she’s not happy and has called the move an assault on free speech.
It’s sickening when a radical thuggish institution like Berkeley can so easily snuff out the cherished American right to free speech.

To fight back is not something Portland, Oregon officials seemed willing to do when they were put to the test. Instead, they caved to the threats of an increasingly hostile fascist movement by the Left.
An email to the organizers of Portland’s of the 82nd Avenue of Roses Parade threatened violence if the Multnomah County Republicans were allowed in the parade.
The email claimed the group would “have two hundred or more people rush into the parade into the middle and drag and push those people out,” according to the Washington Times.

“You have seen how much power we have downtown and that the police cannot stop us from shutting down roads so please consider your decision wisely,” the email, which emanated from address of thegiver@riseup.net, read.
Rather than responding by assembling a police presence that would prevent such activity, the city of Portland decided to give the anarchists another win by cancelling the parade.
Much in the same way the University of California at Berkeley gave them a win by not providing proper security for Ann Coulter, which forced her to cancel her appearance.
The Oregon Republican Party issued the following statement in response.
The organizers of the annual Avenue of Roses Parade have received an e-mail threat from “thegiver@riseup.net” warning that unless the parade organizers revoke the registration of the Multnomah County Republican Party in this year’s parade (set for this Saturday, April 29th), the group will send “two hundred or more people rush into the parade into the middle and drag and push those people out”.
The group brags that “You have seen how much power we have downtown and that the police cannot stop us.”
Sessions-Wheeler-Currier-Sanctuary-Victims The Multnomah County Republican Party (MCRP) has for many years participated in the Parade, and calls upon the Mayor, the Police Chief, and the District Attorney to take action against this criminal conspiracy to commit crimes of riot and disorderly conduct in violation of Oregon law. “Under former Mayor Charlie Hales,” said James Buchal, MCRP Chair, “the City allowed this cancer of lawlessness to grow to the point where its leaders are now bragging, like some sort of comic book characters, that ‘the police cannot stop us’. But this is no laughing matter. The participation of political parties in public events like the Parade is not only an American tradition, but also reflects the most fundamental constitutional rights of free speech and freedom of assembly.”
“The road to fascism begins with armed gangs of thugs using violence to shut down opposing points of view. The question now is whether the City of Portland will be complicit in such conduct. We hope the City’s new leadership has the courage to respond to these threats appropriately.”
And the threats aren’t empty.
Portland is a city in which riot police had to respond when someone protesting in favor of President Donald Trump’s temporary travel ban was punched in the face by left wing anarchists.
But the city has shown it can respond in force if it wants to, as was the case when police flattened protesters who were blocking a street.
Ultimately, this is a result of more than a year of city governments allowing groups like Black Lives Matter and Antifa to win as they travelled through streets chanting “shut it down.”
This is a classic case of letting the terrorists win.

And if the government doesn’t start fighting back, the only thing shut down will be the First Amendment.
