Illegal alien arrests jump 250 percent in a week

President Donald Trump is keeping his promise to get rid of criminal illegal aliens in a big way.

Between March 31 and April 3 Immigration and Customs Enforcement apprehended 368 illegal aliens across seven states and D.C., the Washington Examiner reported.

That represents a whopping 250 percent jump over the 106 illegals arrested the prior week.

The focus of the arrests as on child sex offenders and those affiliated with the MS-13 gang.

Of the 368 arrests, 153 came from Texas, 82 came from Virginia and D.C., 75 more came between North Texas and Oklahoma, 31 were picked up in New York City, 26 more in Colorado and Wyoming, and one was apprehended in New Jersey.

In one of the five-day campaigns immigration agents nabbed 82, according to a report by ICE.

Of the 82 individuals arrested, 68 had previous criminal convictions for crimes like armed robbery, larceny and drug distribution. Of the remaining 14, two had ties to the MS-13 street gang; two had outstanding final orders of removal; three had overstayed their visas; one was wanted by a foreign law enforcement entity; one was a verified human rights violator and two had pending local charges. The remainder had unlawfully entered the United States in violation of U.S. immigration laws.

“ICE’s primary immigration enforcement efforts target convicted criminal aliens. Consequently, our operations improve overall public safety by removing these criminals from our streets, and ultimately from our country,” San Antonio Enforcement and Removal Operations field office director Daniel Bible said.

Those arrested hailed from various nations including Nicaragua, Peru, Philippines, Algeria, Bolivia, China, Cuba, the Dominican Republic, El Salvador, Somalia, South Korea, Sudan, Ethiopia, Ghana, Guatemala, Guinea, Honduras, Iran, Jamaica, Mexico, Moldova, Mongolia, New Zealand, Trinidad, Vietnam and Sierra Leone.
