Pro-immigrant group releases new Snapchat-like app designed to help illegals avoid ICE raids

Beginning on April 10, smart phone-wielding illegal immigrants will be able to download an app that will alert them of immigration raids conducted by U.S. authorities.

The mobile app, called Notifica, was developed by Adrian Reyna, director of digital strategies for United We Dream, a pro-immigrant organization, and was inspired by the Trump Administration’s immigration policies.

Illegals who have the app downloaded will be able to immediately alert friends, relatives, bosses, and even attorneys if they are caught up in an ICE immigration raid. Users will be able to select several telephone contacts, each with different predetermined messages, who will be notified immediately if they are detained, according to Fox News Tech.

The messages will be sent all at once, and when opened a Snapchat-like technology will cause them to be erased immediately.

Reyna, who is the child of undocumented parents, doesn’t expect that the app will stop deportations, but she wants it to help families plan for the possibility.

Currently, over 8,000 people have already registered for the app and will be able to download Notifica for free when it becomes available in April.
