‘He wanted to give you a hug.’ Touching moments between kids and cops take internet by storm

Beginning with the 2009 incident in Cambridge, Massachusetts, where then-President Barack Obama sided with a belligerent African-American Harvard professor over police, who “acted stupidly,” according to Obama, positive stories about cops have been few and far between.

…but it looks like that’s about to change under President Donald Trump.

Two heartwarming stories are making the rounds on social media of law enforcement officers interacting with children, without hand-wringing liberals crying foul over the concerns of illegal immigrants or some other irrational reason.

The first incident took place in the same state though, in Hingham, Massachusetts, where Sergeant Steve Dearth was having dinner alone at a Panera Bread … until four-year-old Lillian came up and asked if she could eat with him.

The endearing moment, which Sgt. Dearth said was “the best dinner date of his life,” according to LawOfficer.com, was captured on video:

And just when you think it can’t get more adorable than that… it does.

In Fort Worth, Texas, Officer Colter, a motorcycle cop, was having a cup of coffee at a McDonald’s restaurant when T.J., a shy 3-year-old boy who is a huge motorcycle fan, gave him a hug.

They had joked about letting T.J. sit on the police motorcycle, but Officer Colter said his boss might not like that, according to Fox affiliate KDFW. Instead, despite a steady rain, the officer went out to his bike to get a sticker of a police badge to give to his new friend.
