Trump retaliates on House Freedom Caucus

President Donald Trump took direct aim at the House Freedom Caucus on Sunday for saving Obamacare and Planned Parenthood by killing his repeal and replace bill.

Since the bill’s defeat on Thursday, the president has stayed above the fray and not blamed anyone for its demise. but that seems to have changed.

On Saturday the president urged his supporters to watch Fox News’ Judge Jeanine Pirro hours before she called for House Speaker Paul Ryan to step down.

And with this new tweet, he has called out the Freedom Caucus and the ultra-conservative Club for Growth and Heritage Foundation.

It was the Republican Freedom Caucus that ultimately doomed the bill.

Illinois Rep. Adam Kinzinger agreed with the president when he appeared on “Fox & Friends” shortly after the tweet.

He said the president was genuinely interested in giving the Freedom Caucus things they wanted in the bill but every time he did they asked for more.

“When you have a group of 30 people that are legitimately unwilling to ever get to ‘yes,’ and when you give them what they ask for they move the goal posts yet again, you are never going to get this bill done,” Kinzinger said. “Instead they use it as an opportunity, very frankly, to go out and get on the cameras and get in the newspapers and get on television, and they empower these other groups that raise money on this.”

Many agreed with the president.
