The snowflake administrators at A Place 2 Grow, a Troy, Illinois daycare center, are apparently terrified of spent .22 caliber bullet casings wielded by 4-year-olds.
So much so that they suspended student Hunter Jackson, 4, for bringing a spent .22 bullet casing to school to show his friends.
Naturally, Hunter’s mother, Kristy Jackson, took issue with the insanity and wrote her thoughts on a Facebook post that has since gone viral. Jackson wrote that when she got to the school she was met with “eyebrows raised in disgust.” She also said the school “threatened” her that if his “enthusiasm for guns continued, he’d be permanently expelled.”
Ashley Judd’s daft question about the Constitution ALMOST puts her unhinged antics into perspective
On Wednesday, the Collinsville, IL mom told Fox 2/News 11 that neither she nor Hunter’s father knew the child had brought the bullet to school, but it turned out he had picked it up after a visit with his grandfather, a Caseyville police officer.
Holding up the bullet casting, Jackson told Fox2/News 11 that she was “met with a stone-faced teacher who said that my son had a shotgun bullet. I was horrified thinking, ‘where could he have gotten this?’”
Later, the school’s director sent a letter with Hunter’s punishment for his “crime,” a 7 day suspension. According to the letter, Hunter’s family had been reminded about Hunter, horror of horrors, using toys as play guns.
The school’s vice-president told Fox2 that the school was following its discipline policy and refused to go into more detail because of confidentiality concerns, other than to say that the suspension was about more than the shell casing.
Hunter’s mother told Fox2 that her son “cried about it and he doesn’t understand why his school hates him.”
“[Hunter] just was wandering around in a field and picked up and put it in his pocket and didn’t tell his parents…it’s paranoia. It’s something that’s become quite an epidemic where guns are automatically assumed that they’re bad…and I’m not sure how a 7-day suspension teaches my son anything about tolerance or anything about why he was wrong. It just means his school doesn’t want him there because of things he enjoys,” Jackson told Fox2.
And it gets worse, because the school’s vice-president informed her that, since the daycare facility was licensed by the Illinois Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS), they would need to be notified about the “incident.”
