Award-winning designer Zac Posen has previously dressed both Ivanka and Melania Trump, but he doesn’t see that happening again anytime soon.
In a recent interview with The Daily Beast, Posen said he has “no current plans to dress members of the first family.”
…which may say more about pressure put on the 36-year-old designer by his peers than his liberal politics.

“Right now, I’m staying away from bringing my brand into politics,” Posen said, before bringing his politics into his brand.
“There are issues that are being questioned that are fundamentally upsetting to me — deeply: LGBT rights, immigration, funding for the arts, Planned Parenthood and women’s rights,” he added. “These are just issues that are very close to my heart, and I use my own private voice and funds to fight them and in support of them.”

Posen has also dressed former first lady Michelle Obama, which proved to be much more socially acceptable in the uber-left world.
As for being socially acceptable, he now joins a number of other designers who have said they would not dress the Trumps.

His displeasure with President Donald Trump was clear, but like the ant who’s sure he will move a rubber tree plant, Posen has high hopes for the future.
“I’m very upset with the state of affairs right now,” Posen said. “I always try to be optimistic. I think that freedom will prevail. And I don’t dictate who buys my clothing in a store.”
