When given an opportunity on national television to dissuade from any idea that the Obama camp is behind recent intelligence leaks in the Trump administration, former White House Press Secretary Josh Earnest punted.
Asked by ABC co-host Martha Raddatz Sunday on “This Week” whether the former president or his staffers where responsible, Ernest would not give a definitive answer, opting instead to attempt to drive a wedge between the president and the intelligence community..
“Martha, what I can tell you is that the men and women of our intelligence community are patriots,” he said, dodging the question. “And these are professionals who have served presidents in both administrations and they took an oath to protect this country and set aside their own political views.”

“And that’s what the men and women of our intelligence community do, and they should be lauded for that,” he added for good measure.
Obama’s former spokesman went on to launch his own personal attack on Trump over the president’s tweet early Saturday accusing his predecessor of “tapping” his phones.
“There is one page in the Trump White House crisis-management playbook, …say something outrageous to distract from a scandal,” Earnest said.
