President Donald Trump was caught on a hot mic — egad! — admitting his innocence in having contact with Russia.
As a press availability at the White House came to a close on Monday prior to Trump meeting with health insurance executives, a reporter called out, asking the president, “Do you support a special prosecutor on Russia?”
Trump ignored the question, but seemed to dismiss the idea when he was overheard telling those seated at the table, “I haven’t called Russia in 10 years.”
White House Deputy Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders was noncommittal on Sunday on whether it was necessary to investigate Russian interference in the 2016 presidential election.
“I don’t think we’re there yet,” she said during an appearance on ABC’s “This Week.”
