Milwaukee County Sheriff David Clarke closed out CPAC on Saturday afternoon, and the popular lawman turned conservative pundit did not disappoint.

A staunch Trump supporter during the campaign, Clarke launched into a full-throttle defense of rule by law, American exceptionalism, and especially the president’s actions thus far including those regarding deportations and enforcing current immigration law.
“No new laws were created,” Clarke said. “No group was put at risk without affording them due process. The rights of none of our citizens … were imperiled in the least. Instead, we merely restated what the laws were, what they have been and voiced an intent to see them upheld fairly.”
“In our modern times, that is viewed in some circles as oppressive, as controversial and as wrong. Seriously?”

Referring to the fact that the people have finally taken power back from the elites, Clark said, “We were constantly told by former President Obama that America needed to humble itself. He told us humility is a virtue. But, false humility is an affront to the senses and pride in the greatness and might of our nation has never been a sin.”
Liberals may be going into convulsions because Trump won, but Clarke thinks they’re overreacting. Responding to charges that the country has become “an Orwellian nightmare” or has entered a new age of “some more equal than others,” Clark said, “Come on now, seriously?”
As for those oppose the rule of law on the immigration issue, Clarke said, “They offer no vision, only lawlessness, obstruction, and chaos. They offer no morality and certainly no courage. They offer only appeasement on the false currencies of concession and popularity over the virtues of morality and certainty.”
Regardless, they will fight Trump to the bitter end, which makes our job, that of defending the president and the actions he takes, all the more critical.
“These are your marching orders, go forth to stand and fight,” Clark implored in his closing remarks.
