It’s a rare occasion when Fox News senior political analyst Brit Hume chimes in from the peanut gallery, but when he does Hume delivers a clarity that few can match.
Melania Trump opens rally with ‘The Lord’s Prayer,’
triggers libs into most ridiculous argument yet
Weekly Standard’s Bill Kristol, an avid Never-Trumper, posted a rather sanctimonious question on Twitter asking conservatives who are “rationalizing” Trump’s presidency if they know they are wrong.
Honest Q for conservatives who aren't just working with or around Trump, but rationalizing him: In your heart, don't you know you're wrong?
— Bill Kristol (@BillKristol) February 19, 2017
Hume replied to Kristol’s query by effecting noting that for Trump supporters, actions speak louder than words.
Actually Bill, some of us think there's more to the man than his outlandish comments, e.g. his cabinet, his regulatory moves, leg. agenda. https://t.co/6SMtq7dbSc
— Brit Hume (@brithume) February 19, 2017
The response prompted ABC News’ chief political analyst Matthew Dowd to pipe in, speaking of “values” as he asked if “words matter?”
@brithume @Jrock41S don’t we teach our children that words matter? That they signal of who we are and what we value? Leaders lead w/ values
— Matthew Dowd (@matthewjdowd) February 19, 2017
But social media users were quick to agree with Hume’s assessment… here’s a sampling of responses from Twitter:
@brithume @seanmdav No one could be as successful in business as Trump without a first class mind. And cool hair.

@brithume @jtf18james This coming from a man, Bill Kristol who has been totally wrong on Trump from the beginning but keeps analyzing

@brithume I agree. Many of us who supported one of the other GOP candidates do believe @POTUS is good for USA, far better than HRC!

@brithume A President finally taking on the media is worth something.

@brithume I am not a fan of the bombast, etc. but very pleased with Gorsuch, Sessions, Mattis, DeVos picks
— HollisCabot (@HollyCabot) February 19, 2017
@brithume @billkristol There is substance there. Kind of nice to have a common man (despite the $$) in WH for a change. Elitist much, Bill?
— JaneC (@Ziggyfan_1) February 19, 2017
@Ziggyfan_1 @brithume @BillKristol One wonders when the last time Bill actually had a conversation with anyone in “fly over country”?
— Meister Bud Paine (@MeisterBud) February 19, 2017
@brithume @irishspy Bill Kristol has lost objectivity. I share Mr. Humes sentiment. I was skeptical of Trump. Now I have a pragmatic view.
— Stewart Hanson (@Jaystew17) February 19, 2017
@brithume That’s why you’re so beloved, Brit. Please don’t go away. The media needs your voice to maintain some semblance of relevance.
