Donald Trump is going to save America a lot of money over his presidency, but none of it will come out of the presidential security detail.
In fact, according to numbers from the Washington Post, the U.S. government will likely spend hundreds of millions more on protecting the Trump family than it did on President Obama.
When you total the cost of travel, security, and other expenses, the president’s three post-inauguration trips to Mar-a-Lago alone cost around $10 million.
It also costs a pretty penny to guard Trump Tower in New York City, where the First Lady and son Barron are currently staying, although that is set to end at the end of the school year.
Comparing Trump to Obama in this matter is apples and oranges, because the situations are completely different. Obama’s two children lived with their family in the White House. Trump has adult children who, like it or not, need Secret Service protection. Yes, Eric and Donald Jr. will be conducting business nationally and internationally on behalf of the Trump Organization, but they absolutely must be protected, and even reasonable people on the Left shouldn’t dispute that.
Oh, but they do. Turns out, libs will make hay out of anything. Some have even found religion all of a sudden when it comes to spending government money.

Again, Sally, apples and oranges. Could we save money somewhere? Probably. But when have you and your ilk EVER cared about governmental expenses?
