It was a rough day for Kellyanne Conway, but she’s thankful she has a boss like President Trump.
Conway chose not to directly address the uproar over her decision to give Ivanka Trump a “free commercial” on Fox News but she did heap praise on her boss.
Hours after many liberals treated Conway’s off the cuff line as a new Watergate the counselor to the president told Fox News’ Martha MacCallum she had no direct comment on the controversy after Press Secretary Sean Spicer told reporters earlier that she had been “counseled.”
MacCallum asked her about a letter issued by Reps. Jason Chaffetz and Elijah Cummings citing her statement has a “potentially serious violation of the government ethics code.”
“We are aware of that letter and we are reviewing that internally. I am just really happy that I spent an awful lot of time with the President of the United States this afternoon and that he supports me 100 percent,” Conway said.
MacCallum pressed and asked if President Donald Trump had “any intention to suspend” Conway.
Conway, again chose not to answer the question directly, but responded with a message to America’s women.
“We spoke about a range of matters, he supports me 100 percent,” she said. “In fact it was a very heartening moment. All I can say to America’s women is, at some point in your life, you ought to have a boss who treated me the way that the President of the United States treated me today.”
