With much of the national media fully committed to playing a “gotcha game” with the Trump administration, a throwaway line by Kellyanne Conway, a senior adviser to the president, is drawing plenty of scrutiny online.
…to include calls to “lock her up!”
Conway appeared on “Fox & Friends” Thursday and fiercly defended Ivanka Trump’s role in the first family as well as being a succesful business mogul. Conway addressed what appears to be a growing backlash to her sucessful fashion line as result of being the president’s daughter.

That didn’t stop Conway, from tearing into Ivanka’s detractors.
“I do find it ironic that you’ve got some executives all over the internet bragging about what they’ve done to her and her line, and yet they’re using the most prominent woman in Donald Trump’s…she’s his daughter…and they’re using her who has been a champion for women empowerment, women in the workplace to get to him,” Conway said.
At the end of her response, Conway encouraged viewers to go out and buy Ivanka‘s products.
“I’m going to give a free commercial here,” she said. “Go buy it today, everybody. You can find it online.”

But did she go too far?
An editor from the very liberal Huffington Post — naturally — was among the first to suggest that Conway violated federal law with the plug:

With an actually attorney general in office as of Wednesday, the odds are not in the left’s favor that such a frivolous toss away line will be prosecuted.
But this didn’t stop liberals and their media allies from hyperventilating, hoping that they’ve finally drawn blood in their battle against Trump:
