Former N.Y. Knicks basketball star Charles Oakley was known as the enforcer when he played alongside Patrick Ewing on the highly competitive Knicks teams of the 90s and the retired player still has plenty of fight in him.
… to his own peril.
Oakley was arrested Wednesday after getting into an altercation in the stands during a game between New York and the Los Angeles Clippers.
And he didn’t go quietly, getting into a physical altercation with several members of security before being forcibly removed from Madison Square Garden. The stands erupted as the ugly scene unfolded.

Oakley was sitting in the expensive court-side seats near Knicks owner James Dolan and a witness claimed he was heckling the owner, according to the New York Post.
There were mixed reports about whether alcohol was involved.
“I didn’t do nothing… this is bulls—t,” Oakley said after being dragged out of the arena.

The team saw in a different light, according to a released statement on the incident.
‘‘Charles Oakley came to the game tonight and behaved in a highly inappropriate and completely abusive manner,’’ the Knicks said. ‘‘He has been ejected and is currently being arrested by the New York City Police Department. He was a great Knick and we hope he gets some help soon.’’
Either way, he was charged with three misdemeanor counts of assault and criminal trespass, The Post reported.
