Bill O’Reilly offers sharp response to Kremlin’s demand for an apology over ‘Vlad is a killer’ remark

Bill O’Reilly had a ready reply Monday night to the Kremlin’s demand that Fox News apologize for his portrayal of Russian President Vladimir Putin as “a killer.”

O’Reilly made the claim in his big Super Bowl interview with President Donald Trump, after the president said he respected Putin.

Trump also raised a few eyebrows with his response, which shifted the focus back on the United States.

“There are a lot of killers,” he said. “You’ve got a lot of killers. What, do you think our country’s so innocent?”

During Monday night’s Talking Points Memo segment on “The O’Reilly Factor,” O’Reilly addressed Russia’s call for an apology.

“Also, apparently the Putin administration in Moscow demanding that I, your humble correspondent, apologize for saying old Vlad is a killer,” he said.

“So I’m working on that apology but it may take a little time,” O’Reilly said, tongue-in-cheek.

“You might want to check in with me around… 2023.”

As for his claim that Putin is a killer, O’Reilly not only stood by it, but encouraged viewers to check out a book on the subject.

“One footnote, if you’d like to know more about the violent history of Vladimir Putin, you might check out the book “iWar” by Bill Gertz, a Washington Times reporter,” he said.
