Donald Trump’s first interview from the White House did not disappoint when it came to scope and controversy.
President Trump‘s wide ranging interview Wednesday night with ABC News anchor David Muir was all the rage on social media, with the president not hesitating to take it to the network for its coverage of him — at one point, he encouraged Muir to “turn on Fox.”
Trump took ABC News to task over his speech at the CIA, which he called “a home run,” saying the network “tried to demean the speech.”
“I hate to say this to you, and you probably won’t put it on, but turn on Fox and see how it was covered. And see how people respond to that speech.”
The controversial issue of voter fraud was also quick to come up, with Muir insisting there is “no evidence” to support Trump’s claim that 3-5 million people voted illegally.

He asked Trump, “Do you think that talking about millions of illegal votes is dangerous to this country without presenting the evidence?”
Muir also moved to dismiss a Pew report cited by the president, saying he called the author.
“He told me they found no evidence of voter fraud,” the ABC News anchor said.
“Really?” Trump replied. “Then why did he write the report?”
In the end, Trump said he wants “the voting process to be legitimate.”
“We’re gonna get to the bottom of it,” he said. “And then we’re gonna make sure it doesn’t happen again.”

Waterboarding also came up, with the president saying, “Absolutely I feel it works.”
And despite Trump stating clearly that he will “do everything within the bounds of what you’re allowed to do legally,” his response is sure to have liberals in an uproar.
“I will rely on [CIA Director Mike] Pompeo and [Defense Secretary James] Mattis and my group,” Trump concluded. “And if they don’t wanna do, that’s fine. If they do wanna do, then I will work for that end.”

Even the size of the crowd at Trump’s inauguration came up, with Trump saying, “Part of my whole victory was that the men and women of this country who have been forgotten will never be forgotten again.”

“I won’t allow you or other people like you to demean that crowd and to demean the people that came to Washington, D.C., from faraway places because they like me,” he added. “But more importantly they like what I’m saying.”
“We had the biggest audience in the history of inaugural speeches.”

To drive home the point, Trump showed Muir a photo of his swearing-in ceremony that now hangs in the White House.
“Here’s a picture of the event. Here’s a picture of the crowd,” he said. “Now, the audience was the biggest ever, but this crowd was massive. Look how far back it goes. This crowd was massive.”
The president also took care to note that while the media fully embraced Saturday’s feminist march on Washington, they routinely ignore the annual March for Life that consistently draws a similar crowd.

The reaction on social media to the interview was rather intense, with the hashtag #POTUSonABC trending on Twitter for hours.
And while there was plenty of hate coming from the left with running ‘mad man’ theme…
