In what is being described as a “diplomatic necessity,” Russian president Vladimir Putin will soon be calling newly sworn-in President Donald Trump.
Amid all the speculation from the left about alleged ties between the Trump campaign and Russia, an actual tie will be established between Trump and Putin “in the coming days,” according to CNN reporter David Wright.
“The acting administration will have to be introduced to all the nuances of our bilateral ties,” Putin’s press secretary, Dmitry Peskov, told Russian media on Saturday.
Among the topics of interest are nuclear disarmament, “cooperation” in Syria and the perceived “split” in the U.S.

And if this is not enough to work the media up into a lather, Peskov said Putin is “ready” to meet with Trump, according to RT News.
But it won’t happen overnight.
“It won’t happens in a matter of weeks,” he said of a possible meeting. “Let’s hope that it can happen in months to come.”
“President Putin will call President Trump after the inauguration to congratulate him. It’s a protocol thing that has to be done,” Peskov added. “We expect that they may discuss their positions on a possible meeting.”
